Entropy Generation Analysis for a CNT Suspension Nanofluid in Plumb Ducts with Peristalsis

Abstract: Abstract:The purpose of the current investigation was to discuss the entropy generation analysis for a carbon nanotube (CNT) suspension nanofluid in a plumb duct with peristalsis. The entropy generation number due to heat transfer and fluid friction is formulated. The velocity and temperature distributions across the tube are presented along with pressure attributes. Exact analytical solution for velocity and temperature profile are obtained. It is found that the entropy generation number attains high values i… Show more

“…Bejan [20,21] originally formulated the analysis of entropy generation and found various applications such as two phase flows [22], MHD pumps and electric generators [23]. Moreover, study of entropy generation and peristaltic flow with thermal conductivity of H 2 O + Cu nanofluid and entropy generation analysis for a CNT suspension nanofluid in plumb ducts with peristalsis has been studies by Akbar et al [24,25]. Rashidi et al [26,27] analyzed entropy generation in a steady MHD flow due to a rotating porous disk in a nanoluid and convective MHD flow of third grade non-Newtonian fluid over a stretching sheet.…”

“…Tables 3 and 4 show the numerical values of local Nusselt number and local Sherwood number for different values of Pr, M, k, N r , L e , N b and N t . Furthermore, Table 5 shows the numerical comparison with the existing published literature [26][27][28][29] by taking M " k " 0, β Ñ 8, as a special case of our study. It is also observed the present results are in very good agreement with the existing published literature.…”

“…The entries of matrix D can be computed by the method proposed by Bhatti et al [26]. Now, applying the spectral method, with derivative matrices on linearized equation Equations (24) and (25), we get the following linearized matrix system…”

“…They analyzed that peristalsis is a great entropy generator process, due essentially to dynamic irreversibility. Some more interesting studies in this direction can be consulted in References [36][37][38][39]. Existing literature witnesses that no attention is focused so far on the study of entropy generation on mixed convection [9,[40][41][42][43][44] peristaltic flow in the presence of nanoparticles.…”
