The evolution of banking has consistently played a significant role in shaping entrepreneurial trajectories across the globe. This paper offers a comprehensive review of the transformation of banking from its nascent stages to the modern era, highlighting the confluence of socio-economic, technological, and regulatory drivers. Emphasizing the Renaissance of Banking, we delve into the emergence of fintech, e-banking, mobile banking, peer-to-peer platforms, and crowdfunding, underscoring how these innovations have democratized financial access. We also address the challenges entrepreneurs face in navigating this dynamic landscape. Through empirical data, the research delineates the correlation between the surge in innovative banking services and the spike in entrepreneurial growth rates. An examination of the global entrepreneurial ecosystem revealed regions where innovative banking has had profound impacts and ripple effects on ancillary industries. The study also contemplates future projections, emphasizing the anticipated integration of AI and machine learning and highlighting potential ethical considerations. Conclusively, policy recommendations are posited to further bridge the nexus between banking innovations and entrepreneurship, along with propositions for future research directions. This paper underscores that as banking continues to evolve, its symbiotic relationship with entrepreneurship is destined to foster economic growth, contingent on adept navigation of challenges and leveraging of opportunities.

Aim. This study aims to investigate the impact of globalization trends on the business management and administration systems. Methodology. The scoping review of the literature included 123 articles through desk research and in-house material. Upon categorizing typologies as qualitative, quantitative, or mixed, an assessment was made regarding the performance and consequences of globalization from 1990 to 2022. Results. Developing country managers are more likely to depend on international sales as a means to augment revenue, due to the greater saturation of sales in developed markets. Developed economies focus on advanced, possibly automated production methods, whereas developing nations employ the digital economy to compete in less automated industries. This creates a more specialized global market..E-commerce in the digital economy makes it easier for developing nations to enter the global market and reach a global audience. In their pursuit of financial gain, corporations based in affluent nations are more likely to employ sophisticated production methods, while those situated in developing countries are more likely to utilize less advanced ones. A number of prevalent issues and trends—including economics, politics, emerging markets, corporate social responsibility, and emerging markets—were recognized as critical for the development of global markets. While past research has focused on globalization's effects on developed economies, this study examines emerging country managers' unique difficulties and opportunities. The emphasis on expanding international sales and potential manufacturing process reduction can inform management approaches in similar situations. Conclusion. The recommendations underscore the critical necessity for further investigation into the aforementioned impacts across diverse economies, ranging from developing to developed. Although this study encountered difficulties due to inconsistent and limited data, it established a strong foundation for subsequent investigations in the field through the application of operationalization, methodologies, and analyses discovered in the business literature.

Evaluating intellectual capital within developmental entrepreneurial environments: conceptualising the sequential role of education and ecosystems

PurposeThis paper evaluates intellectual capital (IC) within entrepreneurial environments, towards conceptualising the sequential role of education, its institutions in practice, and wider ecosystems. Well-established attributes of entrepreneurialism, such as idea generation, problem-solving, market expertise and risk awareness are commensurate to that of expected IC practices within enterprising organisations. However, scarce research has been undertaken concerning the confronting of IC practices and activities across collaborative, and sequential, multistakeholder partnerships and activities. This includes alignment to distinct stages of developmental entrepreneurialism inclusive of education and ecosystem support: knowledge exchange and training; mentoring the emergence of the start-up; strategically timing scale-ups; and continued navigation within networks while enduring change.Design/methodology/approachAn integrative review of the relationship between IC, entrepreneurs and new ventures is undertaken to evaluate developmental IC practices as per this paper’s highlighted sequential stages, within entrepreneurial environments and organisational contexts.FindingsSignificant roles and responsibilities are evident among collaborative sectors, benefitting the entrepreneurial process and heightening the importance and emergence of IC within entrepreneurial environments. Exposure to enterprise-specific education and support emphasises the developmental human capital process of progressing and protecting ideas and ventures. Latterly, ecosystem engagement leads to consistent intrapreneurialism amongst employees and new venture partners, influencing structured IC systems and enterprising cultures and relational aspects of responsive branding of commercial activity and increased market agility.Originality/valueThrough presenting an attribute-based framework, this paper conceptualises sequential multistakeholder intervention of IC practices and organisational considerations within institutions, as well as guiding the developmental role of education in emboldening individuals and organisations through building IC and evidencing entrepreneurial thinking.
