Entfernung der Membrana limitans interna bei Makulalöchern

Abstract: The MLI was successfully removed in all 39 eyes with a full-thickness macular hole. This procedure led to very good anatomic and functional results. It remains for future studies to determine the pathogenic significance of the necrotic processes detected by electron microscopy in the MLI canals.

“…It is widely accepted among vitreoretinal surgeons that removal of the internal limiting membrane (ILM) during surgery for tractional maculopathies improves both functional and anatomical success [1][2][3][4] and may help to decrease the incidence of recurrences of the disease. 4 Peeling of the ILM is a challenging procedure and requires surgical skills and experience.…”

“…(1997) для увеличения результативности оператив-ного вмешательства предложили удаление внутренней пограничной мембраны (ВПМ) сетчатой оболочки [8]. Считают, что данная процедура улучшает анатомическое закры-тие ИМР, поэтому её проведение стало об-щепринятым методом лечения.…”

“…This transparent layer is acellular, composed of collagen closely associated with glycoproteins, and only a few micrometers thick. Several studies have proven the efficiency of ILM-maculorhexis in the treatment of macular holes and epimacular proliferation [1][2][3][4][5]. Recently, ILMremoval has been recommended also for patients with diffuse diabetic macular edema [6,7].…”

“…Macular hole surgery always involves complete vitreous detachment from the ILM [1][2][3]. This provides the possibility of subsequent selective ILM laser ablation because under such conditions the ILM is not covered by another tissue layer but directly accessible by the laser light.…”
