As one of the products in the US Department of Defense Architecture Framework version 2.0 (DoDAF 2.0), the Operational Activity to Services Traceability Matrix product (SvcV-5) links the operational viewpoint (OV) and service viewpoint (SvcV). SvcV-5 is an essential product for optimizing the design of other service view products; thus, it is necessary to study how to optimize the design of SvcV-5. This paper studies the semi-automatic design method of SvcV-5 based on the service identification method. The main idea of this paper is to extract relevant information from previous architecture design products, such as OV-6b, CV-4 and CV-6, and then to study the method of taking service identification and designing the SvcV-5 product. First, a message-based service initial identification method is used to generate the initial service set. Second, considering the measure of the cohesion and the coupling degree of the service, a service improving algorithm is used to update the initial service set. In this process, a dependency matrix between operational activities is established; this matrix includes data dependencies and capability requirement dependencies. Then, according to the mapping result of the service identification method, service-related information can be determined manually by designers. Finally, SvcV-5 can be generated through an automatic algorithm based on the service identification result and the OV-6b product. This article verifies the proposed method using the motivation example of the earthquake rescue information system (ERIS) architecture product design. Through conducting experimental analysis and comparing our method with other service identification methods, we illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed SvcV-5 optimization design method.

Business ecosystem is popularly used to investigate a complex social system with the business perspective, and particularly contributes to the understanding of actors and their relations in the innovation research. However, the aspect of business ecosystem modeling is limited discussed in the literature, although the importance has emerged significantly in recent years due to the emphasis on cross-disciplinary research and digitalization with artificial intelligence. Therefore, this paper proposes a framework for business ecosystem modeling with the discussion of system engineering and ecological modeling. The domain of smart grid is selected to demonstrate how system engineering, especially standards and ontologies contribute to the business ecosystem modeling. The proposed framework of the business ecosystem modeling includes three parts and nine stages that combines theories from system engineering, ecology, and business ecosystem. Part I-Business ecosystem architecture development includes four stages which aims to identify a target business ecosystem and its elements (actors, roles, and interactions). Part II-Factor analysis includes two stages to identify potential changes (and the dimensions of the changes) in the ecosystem. Part III-Ecosystem simulation and reconfiguration aims to use simulations to investigate the transition of an ecosystem and the re-configurated ecosystem. The framework not only provides a systematic approach for modeling a business ecosystem but also provides a methodological foundation for research on the aspect of complex systems in the business ecosystem field.

Comparative analysis of frameworks dedicated to enterprise designing

The aim of this paper is a comparative analysis of frameworks for designing corporate applications. For analytic reasons the application for document circulation within a law firm was designed. The presented comparative analysis includes TOGAF framework as well as Zachman framework. The analysis was conducted on group of experts based on evaluation criteria divided on several groups. Five groups of criteria were defined: implementation, testing, time-consuming, documentation and schedule planning. As the research shows, Zachman framework presents a versatile approach towards designing corporate architecture, because it presents not only the client’s vision but also the visions of a designer and a programmer, whereas TOGAF framework focuses mainly on business approach regarding aims and strategy of an enterprise. The aforementioned research was carried out on a group on a two domain experts.
