Enterale Ernährungstherapie in der Intensivmedizin

Abstract: Nutrition therapy is a cornerstone in critical care. Early enteral feeding in patients who are unable to meet caloric requirements from oral intake is associated with better clinical outcomes. However, there are still uncertainties about optimal timing, dose, and formula selection of enteral nutrition in critically ill patients. In the present article, an overview of current knowledge and practical strategies for successful implementation of enteral nutrition in intensive care patients is given.
