Enhancing the Stability of Methanol-to-Olefins Reaction Catalyzed by SAPO-34 Zeolite in the Presence of CO2 and Oxygen-Vacancy-Rich ZnCeZrOx

Ke Ma,
Siyuan Zhao,
Meixin Dou
et al.

Abstract: In the methanol-to-olefins (MTO) reaction, coke deposition is a key factor that reduces the catalyst stability. Consequently, this work proposes a strategy: conducting the MTO reaction catalyzed by ZnCeZrO x /SAPO-34 in the presence of CO 2 to suppress coke deposition and thus improve the catalyst lifetime. Under a CO 2 atmosphere, compared to pristine SAPO-34, the composite catalyst of SAPO-34 and ZnCeZrO x with abundant oxygen vacancies has a 3.4 times longer lifetime and a selectivity to light olefins (C 2 … Show more

“…The concept of tandem catalysis for the hydrogenation of CO/CO 2 to value-added fuels or products, such as low-carbon olefin [ 114 , 115 , 116 , 117 ], aromatic, gasoline, and alcohol, has drawn the attention of many researchers [ 38 , 118 , 119 ]. For example, a high aromatic selectivity can be achieved by combining the methanol synthesis catalyst with the aromatization zeolite catalyst [ 120 , 121 , 122 , 123 , 124 , 125 , 126 ].…”
