The contribution of PM10 to the daily Air Quality Stress Index (AQSI) was examined in a heavily affected industrial city of Eastern Mediterranean (Aspropyrgos, Greece). For this purpose, hourly values of four pollutants (SO2, NO2, O3, and PM10) were analyzed between 2012 and 2020, revealing that the main contributor to AQSI levels came from PM10 (between 17% and 90% to the daily AQSI), with a moderate annual variability and a spring peak. Excluding PM10, the AQSI always remained below the threshold of 0.8. To identify the atmospheric source of PM10 peaks, the Flextra - Air mass trajectories model was applied to 47 cases when the upper thresholds were exceeded. The empirical results of the model show that dust transport episodes, mainly from Sahara Desert, contribute to the daily levels of PM10 and, for generalization, to AQSI.

precipitation during 2018 was extremely high, nearly 500% above the average. These conditions contributed to the increase of soil moisture index anomaly and fAPAR, creating an ideal microenvironment (wet soils and green pastures) for mosquito breeding. This phenomenon was directly associated with a drastic outbreak of West Nile virus cases in the area, compared with earlier years. Our results indicate how unusually high values of summer precipitation may have contributed (both through direct and indirect ecological channels) to the rapid spread of the West Nile virus in West Attica, causing a significant number of confirmed cases and fatalities. Climate change may bring forth other issues aside from natural disasters, including-but not limited to-virus expansion.

El objetivo de la investigación fue determinar la importancia de la responsabilidad social universitaria y la educación ambiental para potenciar el nivel de cultura ambiental en los estudiantes de la Facultad de Ingeniería, Arquitectura y Urbanismo de la Universidad Señor de Sipán en el año 2020. La investigación fue de tipo correlacional transversal con diseño no experimental. Los resultados obtenidos en la investigación después de aplicado el postest, arrojan que luego de haber desarrollado las sesiones de aprendizaje se afianzó la Dimensión del Ser en relación a las actitudes, evidenciándose la identificación de acciones en favor del desarrollo sostenible. De ahí que los porcentajes obtenidos favorecen la identificación de acciones negativas hacia el cuidado del ambiente que son: siempre 77,3%, a veces 15,5% y nunca un 7,2%. Respecto, a la Dimensión Procedimental se valoran las iniciativas del estudiante en favor del cuidado del ambiente dentro y fuera de la comunidad universitaria, cuyos resultados fueron: siempre 56,3% a veces 26,0% y nunca un 17,7%. Asimismo, en relación a la Dimensión Cognitiva se refuerza la actitud investigativa cuyos porcentajes fueron: siempre 52,1% a veces 23,6% y nunca un 24,3%. En cuanto a la Dimensión Convivencia se fortalece la conciencia socioambiental cuyos porcentajes fueron: siempre 63,5% a veces 20,5% y nunca un 16,0%. Finalmente se concluye que después de haber desarrollado las sesiones de aprendizaje se evidencia por parte de los estudiantes un cambio de actitud en relación al cuidado del ambiente en cuanto a las dimensiones del ser, procedimental, cognitiva y convivencia.
