“…The development of environmentally friendly practices and the removal of adverse techniques is the goal of intelligent systems and process improvement for sustainable manufacturing. However, "environmental performance is challenging from the decision-making perspective because of difficulty determining and prioritizing the proper factors that have a significant effect on a firm's environmental performance" [82]. According to Rezai et al [83], awareness about environmentally friendly products has drastically increased, and consumers are increasingly demanding products that are not only environmentally friendly but also have a circular life cycle.…”

“…The multi-criteria attribute (MCAM) and multi-criteria objective (MCOM) methods have also been known for an extensive usage in the assessment of the environmental performance, which is mainly driven by their practical feasibility that has been proven useful in decreasing the risk of losing relevant information (Chowdhury and Paul, 2020). For instance, analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method (Ak and Braida, 2015; Pipatprapa et al , 2018; Haddach and Benfssahi, 2019), Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to the Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) method (Ostad-Ahmad-Ghorabi et al , 2013; Bilbao-Terol et al , 2014; Jayasooriya et al , 2018) and analytic network process (ANP) method (Farias et al , 2019). Some authors have applied either hybrid methods combining two or more methods to address the limitations coming with these methods to reach the final decision, for instance, the AHP-TOPSIS method (Azimifard et al , 2018), LCA-TOPSIS (Vidal and Sánchez-Pantoja, 2019), TOPSIS-VIKOR named TOPKOR (Aghajani Mir et al , 2016 ; Sedady and Beheshtinia, 2019), or introduced the fuzzy concept to deal with uncertainty problem in the decision-making process, for instance, fuzzy AHP-TOPSIS (Anand and Vinodh, 2018) and fuzzy ANP (Chan and Wang, 2013).…”

“…AHP was used because it can designate unquantifiable targets, and it is easier for users to develop decision support systems on it. AHP is a widely used analytical tool for solving multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) problems [28]. It eliminates bias in decision-making by converting MCDM problems and subjective evaluation into a multilevel hierarchical framework [29].…”
