Enhancing Onion Yield, Quality, Storability and Profitability by Using FYM, Copper and Bio-fertilizer

Abstract: T HIS INVESTIGATION explored the effect of copper application under organic and biofertilization on onion growth, yield and yield components, chemical contents and bulb storability as well as economic efficiency during 2018/2019 and 2019/2020. In this research, the design of the experiments was split-split design in complete randomized blocks in four replications. The factors were: A. farmyard manure (0.0, 12 and 24 t ha -1 ) where arranged in the main plots, B. copper (0.0 and foliar spray of copper sulphate … Show more

“…Because of such intensification plans, the use of chemicals was exaggerated and soil degradation turns out to be a global problem (Babla et al, 2022). Probably recycling organic residues may lessen soil degradation (Bationo et al, 2007;El-Ramady et al, 2022) via substituting (partially or totally) chemical fertilizers (Wang et al, 2018;Sarhan and Bashandy, 2021) and, at the same time, increasing the organic carbon and nitrogen contents in soils (Maris et al, 2021).…”

“…In Table , (3) and Table (4) growth and yield parameters improved significantly at 5% with biofertilizer treatments. Onion plant height, number of leaves /plant and fresh weight increased as mentioned by Sarhan and Bashandy, (2021). Azotobacter gave highest N, P, K and concentration in onion leaves and improved onion properties in terms of plant height (50.51cm), leaf number (12.5), bulb diameter (7.43 cm) and bulb weight (96.24 gm), Increase yfed ) and TSS (16.52%).…”

“…The current research paper aims to study the effect of different levels of water salinity on the germination of quinoa seeds and to verify the possibility of using organic manure to increase the resistance of quinoa to salt stress. One of the most important problems that reduce the ability of plants to grow when irrigated with saline water is the poor soil content of organic matter (Sarhan, 2021). Therefore, this study assumes that supplying arid degraded soils with organic fertilizers will increase the water salinity threshold limit of quinoa plants. The obtained results will be used to determine threshold value of water salinity in germination and vegetative growth stages.…”
