Abstract:Poisson-Exponentially Weighted Moving Average (PEWMA) charts are one of the most frequently used control charts for monitoring count data. But as real-world data often shows overdispersion—prevalent in manufacturing, health care, economics, and marketing—the standard Poisson distribution falls short.
