“…Inorganic Crystal Structure Database standards (ICSD-26204 for hydroxyapatite 40 and ICSD-158583 for magnetite 41 ). The peaks (see Figure 1A) at 2θ equal to 18.4°, 30.2°, 35.6°, 37.0, 43.1°, 53.4°, 57.2°, 62.7° has been ascribed to cubic inverse spinel structure, which crystallizes in orthorhombic Fd 3m space group.…”

“…Nano-hydroxyapatite [Ca 10 (PO 4 ) 6 (OH) 2 ] (n-HAP) is a very well-known inorganic material in the biological and medical fields [ 33 36 ], and can be used as an adsorbent for the removal of heavy metals and dyes, due to its low water solubility, high stability under reducing and oxidizing conditions, high specific surface area, and good buffering properties [ 37 , 38 ]. Application of hydroxyapatiteas drug carrier have been researched [ 39 42 ], Kumar synthesized HAP-ciprofloxacin powders by precipitation technique and investigated the adsorption and release process which may be an effective treatment of bacterial bone infections, and the adsorption was up to maximum in 24 hours while the release was slow and sustained for several weeks [ 41 ]; Yin et al studied the HAP adsorption of histatins 1,3 and 5 and concluded that histatin 5 could be impaired by mineral adsorption [ 42 ].…”

“…The present study focuses on the removal Pb(II) from aqueous solution by hydroxyapatite (HA) [Ca 10 (PO 4 ) 6 (OH) 2 ]. HA is a major inorganic constituent of bone and teeth, which belongs to the family of apatite's (Elayaraja et al 2012). It is one such material with excellent biocompatibility, osteointegrity, and osseous inductivity (Gopi et al 2012).…”
