Enhancement of the catalytic activity of [Cu2(TS)(OH)2(OAc)] using superconductor cuprate sample

Abstract: A superconducting sample (Nd 0.1 Y 0.9 Ba 2 Cu 3 O 7-d ) has been tried as a catalyst for H 2 O 2 decomposition. All parameters affecting the reaction rate (concentration of H 2 O 2 , weight of catalyst, temperature and pH) were studied and the optimum conditions were evaluated. A mixture of the superconducting cuprate with [Cu 2 (TS)(OH)(OAc)] using different percentages of the sample has been prepared and tried kinetically under the same mentioned conditions. An attempt was made to increase the activity of t… Show more

“…The electronic spectrum of Schiff base ligand (H 2 L), Figure (3) exhibits two high intense absorption peaks at (256 nm) (39062 cm -1 ) and (334nm) (29940cm -1 ) which assigned to (π → π*) and (n → π*) transitions respectively. The electronic spectrum of 1,10-phenanthroline, Figure (4) displays high intense absorption peaks at (202 nm) (49504 cm -1 ) and (228 nm) (43859 cm -1 ) which assigned to (π → π*) and peak at (264 nm) (37878 cm -1 ) which assigned to (n→π*) transition respectively, the data recorded in Table (5) [13].Theses transitions were also found in the spectra of the complexes, but they were shifted towards lower in range (30769-28571) cm -1 [14].…”

“…1 They form stable and intense colored complexes which are used for spectrophotometric determination of metal ions in different media [2][3][4] and showed catalytic activity. 5,6 Also, they have potentially beneficial as biological properties such as antibacterial, [7][8][9][10] antifungal, 7,9,10 antitumor, 11,12 antimalarial, 13 trypanocidal 14 and anti-inflammatory activities. 15 Complexes of iron, cobalt, nickel, palladium and platinum with 2-hydrazinopyridine were reported; 16 the coordination sites were the pyridine ring and NH 2 group.…”

“…Thiosemicarbazides are interesting because they form highly stable and intensely colored complexes that are used for the spectrophotometric determination of metal ions in different media and show catalytic activity. , Also, they possess antibacterial and anticancer activity. , 4-Ethyl-1-(pyridin-2-yl)thiosemicarbazide and its Cu(II) complexes with different anions have been synthesized and characterized and used as a chelating agent for separation, preconcentration, and determination of Cu(II) ions in saturated saline solutions by a cloud point extraction technique …”
