Enhancement of quantum efficiency of Cs3Sb photocathodes

Abstract: The influence of SnO2 and CeO2 substrates on the photoemission of Cs3Sb cathodes is investigated. Using λ/4 SnO2 films it is possible to achieve an enhancement of the integral sensitivity up to 22%. Comparisons of the quantum efficiency over glass and substrate show that the enhanced sensitivity of the emitters is due to an increase of the photocurrent in the long‐wavelength region.
