Enhanced Resonance Magnetoelectric Coupling in (1‐1) Connectivity Composites

Abstract: Bulk-magnetoelectric (ME) composites consisting of various piezoelectric and piezomagnetic materials with (3-0), (3-1), (2-2), and (2-1) connectivity are proposed in a bid to realize strong ME coupling for next-generation electronic-device applications. Here, 1D (1-1) connectivity ME composites consisting of a [011]-oriented Pb(Mg,Nb)O -PbTiO (PMN-PT) single-crystal fiber laminated with laser-treated amorphous FeBSi alloy (Metglas) and operating in L-T mode (longitudinally magnetized and transversely poled) ar… Show more

“…[10] The principle behind the search-coil is Faraday's law of induction, which means the induced voltage is proportional to the rate of the change in the magnetic flux passing through the coil. [20,24] The attractive research orientations for ME sensors are to i) lower the noise and enhance the limit of detection and ii) to develop the system-level application in different cases. Moreover, to recognize the weak magnetic field, it is necessary to increase the radius and turns of coil, making the coil very unwieldy.…”

“…And the search-coil is often limited to the detection for the alternating current magnetic field. [24] Moreover, the anisotropy factor of the (1-1) connectivity ME sensor reached a value as high as 150-300, which is the vital characteristic for magnetic positioning and imaging. A fluxgate www.advmattechnol.de working at room-temperature and on the basis of the strainmediated magneto-to-electric coupling principle, have emerged recently.…”

“…These directional variations in ME response of PZT/Ni may be related to the demagnetization effect and the resultant differential magnetic flux distribution in the Ni foil. The effective magnetic field (H eff ) and magnetic induction (B eff ) in the magnetic phase are influenced by the demagnetizing field (H d ) and the applied magnetic field (H bias ) according to [35][36][37] …”
