Enhanced photocatalytic performance of g-C3N4 nanosheets–BiOBr hybrids

Abstract: a b s t r a c tExfoliated g-C 3 N 4 (CNs)-BiOBr hybrids with heterojunction structure was fabricated through a chemical deposition-precipitation route. The characterization showed the uniform existence of CNs and BiOBr in hybrids. The fabricated CNs-BiOBr was of enlarged specific surface area, unique optical property, and well-matched energy-band structures. The photocatalytic performance on dye Rhodamine B (RhB) and 2,4-diclorophenol (2,4-DCP) were dramatically improved. Under identical conditions, sample 0.5… Show more

“…Therefore, the valence band positions ( E VB ) for BiOBr and 4CBT-BiOBr are determined to be 3.06 and 2.05 V, respectively, according to the equation E VB = E CB + E g . The related values for BiOBr are consistent with previous reports, suggesting the reliability of our analysis.…”

“…The high-resolution XPS spectra of C 1s in Fig. 5B contains three peaks with binding energies at 284.6 eV, 287.8 eV, and 288.3 eV, respectively indexing to the C-C bonds of adventitious external carbon [24], the defect-containing sp 3 -coordinated carbon atoms on g-C 3 N 4 surface [50], and the sp 2 -hybridized carbons in the aromatic rings (N-C=N), revealing the existence of g-C 3 N 4 phase [50]. The N 1s spectrum in Fig.…”
