“…It should be noted that, due to the double flared shape of our constriction and its short length (relative to the cell diameter), this arrest time differs from the entry or the transit time as defined in the literature for funnel-shaped constrictions opening into a long and narrow channel. 20,36–38 Actually, our arrest time is a combination of both, reflecting the fact that cells are never arrested in the constriction but move slowly until their velocity displays an abrupt change upon cell release.…”
