Enhanced adsorption removal of methyl orange from aqueous solution by nanostructured proton-containing δ-MnO2

Abstract: Two nanostructured proton-containing δ-MnO2 (H-δ-MnO2) materials were synthesized through proton exchange for K-containing δ-MnO2 (K-δ-MnO2) nanosheets and nanoparticles prepared by the hydrothermal homogeneous precipitation method and solid-state reaction.

“…Therefore, 8.0 g/L amount of MOCS was an optimum dose for 500 μg/L concentration of Pb(II) and Zn(II) solutions. The increase in adsorption with the increase in the amount of MOCS was attributed to the number of binding sites available for both Pb(II) and Zn(II) ions [46]. Higher adsorption of Zn(II) in comparison to Pb(II) might be due to difference in size and electro-negativities [47].…”

“…3a also shows that most of the MO is adsorbed to achieve equilibrium adsorption within 180 min, which indicates excellent adsorption performance and rapid removal of MO from water. The adsorption experiments were conducted at four different temperatures (25,35,45, and 55°C), and the results are shown in Fig. 3b.…”
