Abstract:Many multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria evolved through accumulation of antibiotic-resistance genes (ARGs). Although the potential risk of probiotics as reservoirs of ARGs has been recognized, strategies for blocking transfer of ARGs while using probiotics have rarely been explored.
