Abstract:Autoimmune diseases, driven by Fcγ receptor (FcγR) activation through autoantibody immune complexes (IC), present a complex therapeutic challenge of achieving pharmacological blockade of FcγR without triggering receptor activation. The assembly of ICs into polydisperse, higher-order structures is required for FcγR activation. However, engineered multimeric, monodisperse Fc assemblies have been reported to prevent FcγR activation, suggesting that Fc spatial organization determines FcγR activation. In this study… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
