Objectives: To describe the experience of planning and executing the development of health education actions at a public hospitalization unit for Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation. Methodology: This is an experience report about health education actions performed by nursing professionals. The actions occur since 2014, with an interruption between 2020 and 2022, due to the pandemic of COVID-19, and are directed to patients undergoing transplantation, as well as their caregivers and or family members. Results: One of the main results achieved through the actions, is the promotion of self-care of patients, mediated by health education, respecting particularities and social context, in addition to the promotion of the reception of these and their caregivers. Final considerations: The elaboration and implementation of educational actions, as well as the use of health educational technologies, become fundamental for the promotion of self-care, adherence to treatment, as well as the welcoming of patients after Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation and their caregivers during the health-disease process.
