This paper comprehensively investigates the different measurements and results of embracing green energy, with an emphasize on its significance for advancing sustainable financial development and safeguarding ecosystem. It can be concluded from the study that the unfavorable impacts of fossil fuel combustion on climate change can be reduced by focusing on renewable energy sources. The various types of green energy resources that include wind, geothermal, solar, hydro etc. and its current scenarios of utilization across the world has been focused upon. The most abundant and easily extractable source of energy was solar based system. However, the literature confirms that the sector requires further enhancement in the technology to fully extract the power from these resources. The storage solutions of various capacities such as magnetic storage, battery fuel cell etc., can work as a backup to these resources. The major improvements in the field of renewable energy give adaptable ways to decrease the carbon impression of transportation, fabricating, and control systems, which in turn advances the output in terms of available power. The papers gives remarks on the key challenges and solutions for sustainable use of energy which is important for enforcing the balance in the economic growth and ecosystem enhancement.

Evaluating Renewable Energy’s Role in Mitigating CO2 Emissions: A Case Study of Solar Power in Finland Using the ARDL Approach

This study examines Finland’s increasing investment in solar energy as part of its broader strategy to transition to renewable energy sources. Despite its northern location and limited sunlight during winter months, Finland has effectively harnessed solar power, especially during its long summer days. We conducted a PESTLE analysis, highlighting political commitment to climate agreements, economic benefits of solar energy, public support for clean energy, technological advancements, regulatory support, and environmental benefits. In addition, we applied the autoregressive distributed lag model (ARDL) to study the impact of GDP per capita, urbanization (URB), foreign direct investments (FDI), and the share of primary energy consumption from solar (SOL) on CO2 emissions for Finland during 1990–2022. The long-term findings show that SOL, URB, and FDI negatively impact CO2 emissions, while GDP positively impacts CO2 emissions. Solar energy deployment reflects the effectiveness of solar energy as a cleaner alternative to fossil fuels. Urbanization also shows a negative impact on CO2 emissions due to better infrastructure and more efficient energy use in urban areas. FDI suggests that investments are oriented towards sustainable technologies. Industrial activity associated with economic expansion may indicate the positive effect of GDP in CO2 emissions. Although economic growth has typically resulted in increased emissions, strategic investments in renewable energy and sustainable urban development can greatly reduce this effect. Policy initiatives in Finland should concentrate on promoting green investments and enhancing urban planning with a focus on environmental sustainability.

Mounting climate concerns are making energy transition inevitable. Providing a reliable, cost-effective energy supply that meets the needs of all, as set up by Sustainable Development Goal 7, and promotes climate neutrality, as set up by the European Green Deal, is a complex task that requires complex and combined interventions in various sectors and policy areas. This paper aims to conduct a systematic analysis of the scholarly work focusing on energy transition towards renewables and to contribute to the existing knowledge by offering a holistic perspective on the dynamic landscape of energy transformation and the transition to renewables. To this end, advanced bibliometric techniques, combined with a systematic in-depth review of the existing literature and desk research, are used to uncover the intellectual landscape and identify influential works and emerging themes within this critical intersection of the economic, governance, political, social, and climate dimensions of energy transition. This analysis not only highlights prevailing trends and influential works but also sets the stage for future research and discussions critical to shaping the transition to renewable energy and policy actions in a rapidly evolving world. The results are useful guidance in the formulation of policy actions.
