Energy Supported AODV (EN-AODV) for QoS Routing in MANET

Hybrid Ad-hoc NETwork (HANET) is a fusion of both the static and dynamic topologies. Each node of this network consists of low capacity battery. Because of heterogeneous characteristic of the topology, network parameters are imprecise in nature. This, in effect, the performance and lifetime of the network degrade. To overcome these issues, this paper proposes an optimized energy efficient routing (OE2R) method. This method is inspired by artificial intelligence techniques such as multiobjective optimization, geometric programming, aspiration level, and tolerance limit. The fusion of such stated artificial intelligence techniques provide an effective tool to optimize multiple conflict objectives and estimate imprecise parameters of the network, simultaneously. The proposed technique OE2R is simulated using LINGO optimization software. To justify the effectiveness of the proposed technique, its performance is compared with some existing methods such as approximate linear programming technique for average cost bounds and linear programming-based efficient message delivery approach in hybrid network in several passes of performance metrics. The simulation results show that the proposed OE2R method performs much better with the comparative methods and may be implemented as energy-efficient routing for HANET. Peer-to-peer (P2P) networks existing on a MANET are a natural evolution since both are decentralized and have dynamic topologies. As MANETs grow in use due to the increasing popularity of wireless mesh and 4G networks, it is expected that P2P applications will remain as a popular means of obtaining files. Network coding has been shown as an efficient means of sharing large Files in a P2P network. With network coding, all file blocks have the same relative importance. This paper presents an efficient content distribution scheme that uses network coding to share large files in a P2P overlay running on a MANET. Peers request file blocks from multiple server nodes and servers multicast blocks to multiple receivers, providing efficient multipoint-to-multipoint communication.Simulation results show that compared to other common download techniques, the proposed scheme performs very well, having lower download time and energy consumption. Also, more peers participate in uploading the file, resulting in greater fairness.

Due to decentralization and infrastructure less characteristics of ad hoc networks, it can be established in any environment without pre-existing infrastructure with ease of deployment. There are many issues for designing of ad hoc network like MAC layer protocol, security, mobility of nodes, routing protocol, quality of service etc… The most challenging is design of routing protocol which may affects the performance of ad hoc network. Ad-hoc networks are very useful in disaster scenario which provides communication among rescue team members to perform relief operation efficiently. In this paper, we have proposed a new technique based on link stability and energy aware, which is applied to Ad-hoc On Demand Distance Vector (AODV) protocol. We have checked performance of normal AODV, Min max based AODV, distance based AODV and our modified AODV routing protocol in terms of routing metrics like packet delivery ratio, normalized routing load, throughput and remaining energy using NS2 simulator. Nodes in ad hoc network are having limited battery power so; if they consume battery power very efficiently then life time of nodes can be increased. From the simulation results, it is observed that our proposed technique on AODV protocol consume less energy and gives better performance than different variant of AODV.
