Energy Shaping Control for Wireless Power Transfer System in Automatic Guided Vehicles

Abstract: This paper proposes an energy shaping controller of a DC/DC converter for automatic guided vehicles (AGVs) wireless power transfer (WPT). A transformer is inserted after the LCC topology to improve the transfer power, and the DC/DC boost converter is added before this topology to obtain desired systematic power dynamically. The system power transfer model is derived based on the idea of voltage transformation and the desired power can be implemented indirectly through regulating desired output voltage of DC/DC… Show more

“…The authors in [5] designed a novel DC power supplier for industrial robots to reduce the total energy consumption for different electrical power profiles. In addition, the authors in [6]- [14] proposed power management, wireless power transfer systems and battery conservation methods to reduce the energy consumption for the robots. Besides, the energy harvesting method was proposed in [15]- [18] to have more power for the robot thus reduce the energy that need from the battery.…”

“…Wireless power transfer systems are being widely utilized as a solution to address these issues as shown in Figure 1. Wireless power transfer technology can be applied in various transportation systems within smart factories, including stoppers and automated guided vehicles, to create a clean and unrestricted transportation environment without limitations on the mobility of the systems [1][2][3]. It can significantly contribute to establishing a clean and unobstructed transportation environment within the smart factory.…”

“…However, to continue their operations, AGVs need to frequently recharged, and using a plug-in charging system decreases their utilization rate and increases the overall cost [11]. Therefore, the use of a WPT to energize these AGVs has solved the automated charging requirements and security concerns [12]. Apart from the above-mentioned benefits, an HESS has been implemented in LRVs to lower the power level of WPT charging systems [13].…”
