Energy Optimized Routing Algorithm for Hybrid Wireless Mesh Networks in Coal Mine

Abstract: Mesh clients in hybrid wireless mesh networks can participate in networking and routing. When the backbone transmission network is broken, the mesh client can route and forward the data, which will eliminate the absolute dependence on the backbone network of traditional infrastructure wireless mesh networks in mine emergency rescue. However, the energy of mesh clients is limited. Based on the comprehensive consideration of the efficiency and balance of energy consumption of mesh clients for data transmission, … Show more

“…Coal consumption accounts for 70% of the non-renewable energy consumption at the present stage. 7 In recent years, the safety of coal mining has been paid more attention with the increase in depth and intensity in production processes. The terrain of an underground mine is complex, and the environment of mining production is terrible.…”

“…No-balance degree of remaining energy in mesh clients: the standard deviation of remaining energy of all mesh clients in the whole network when the first mesh client becomes invalid due to the exhausted energy. 27,28 Network lifetime: the run time until the first client runs out of energy. The unit is seconds.…”

“…The first-order radio energy consumption model proposed in [35,36,37,38,39] is used in our study; the model considers both the transmitting energy and receiving energy consumption. Based on this model, the energy consumed by the data transmission of lbit to s is shown as follows, ETx(l,s)={leftlEelec+lεfss2,s<s0lEelec+lεmps4,ss0, where E elec refers to the energy consumed by the transmitting circuit.…”
