Energy management of micro renewable energy source and electric vehicles at home level

Abstract: As renewable energy source (RES) tend to be integrated more and more at home and electric vehicles (EVs) take a greater share in the personal automobile market, users see a chance to charge their EVs by micro-RES. In this context, this paper presents a review about opportunities and challenges needed to be overcome by the EV users to implement a vehicle to home system in their homes, as well as the integration of micro-RES. Several practical scenarios are presented, with different demand profiles, by integrati… Show more

“…The behavior of the electric mobility as a contribution for stabilizing the grid voltage, also considering RES, is presented in [6]. Similar studies can be found in [7], [8], [9], and [10]. Also framing all of these three strands prospecting an economic deployment, a hybrid strategy is proposed in [12].…”

“…Electric mobility is expanding its engagement in the transportation sector, offering several technologies prospecting the sustainability of this area [1], not only in the perspective of the vehicle, but also in the perspective of the power grid [2] [3]. Moreover, the cooperative mixture with renewables prospecting power management for the power grid side can also be seen as a key challenge offered by the flexibility of the electric mobility in terms of random connection to the power grid [4] [5]. In this context, the incorporation in the paradigms of microgrids [6], smart grids and smart cities is of paramount importance [7].…”

“…At the same time, the possibility of forming a coalition between the owners of EVs serving one company and the owners of this company remains unexplored. Such a statement of the problem is important because we assume that a significant number of EVs mainly use two parking spaces [16,30] as follows:…”
