Energy Management Fuzzy Logic Supervisory for Electric Vehicle Power Supplies System

Abstract: This paper introduces an energy management strategy based on fuzzy logic supervisory for road electric vehicle, combining a fuel cell power source and two energy storage devices, i.e., batteries and ultracapacitors. The control strategy is designed to achieve the high-efficiency operation region of the individual power source and to regulate current and voltage at peak and average power demand, without compromising the performance and efficiency of the overall system. A multiple-input power electronic converte… Show more

“…The method of determining membership function is the use of intuitionistic fuzzy sets [6,10]. The available energy of the battery or SC is normalized into five functions of S1 to S5, whose values are all between 0 and 1 [1,4].…”

“…Especially the use in alternative and renewable sources utilization can be counted among the most interesting applications [4], [6], [7]. Due to the nature of this kind of systems, the supervisory control is required, especially for the performance of power and energy management [8], [9], [10], with the goal to maximize the efficiency of the overall system under the different operating conditions. However, the converters of that complexity become relatively hard to manage, and in the early stage of development, a lot of attention has to be given to the safety of the operation, which has to be set to a much higher level than the one required in the normal operation.…”
