Energy Levels of Krypton, Kr I through Kr XXXVI

Abstract: The energy levels of the krypton atom, in all stages of ionization for which experimental data are available, have been compiled. No data has yet been published for Kr XI through Kr XVII. For H-like krypton very accurate· calculated level values are compiled. In all, data for 29 spectra are given. Experimental g-factors are included for Krl and Kr II. Calculated percentage compositions of levels are given for 12 ions. A value for the ionzation energy of each ion, either experimental or theoretical, is included. Show more

“…For Kr II and Xe II, the LS coupling scheme is not of a high purity. For example, for the Kr II level with an energy of 115 092.012 cm −1 the purity of the representative term ( 3 P)5s 4 P 3/2 , is only 59% (Sugar & Musgrove 1991). For the 5p and 5d configurations in Kr II, the purity calculations for different coupling schemes have not yet been found.…”

“…8. For Kr II and Xe II, some data on perturbing levels which are necessary for MSE calculations, are missing in the NIST database, as well as other literature (Hansen & Persson 1987;Sugar & Musgrove 1991;Saloman 2004Saloman , 2007, so the calculations cannot be performed properly. Calculated Stark halfwidth results qualitatively agree in agreement with the experimental ones, the increase of the halfwidth for Ar II is obvious.…”
