Climate change is a threat and crisis that hit the world today; one of them is causing drought, rising sea levels, melting polar ice, and heat waves; therefore, the target towards Net Zero Emission (NZE) in 2060 must be an obligation in all countries. Green Building (GB) is a building that meets Building Technical Standards, and has demonstrated demonstrable success in conserving resources such as water, energy, and other resources. The application of GB principles following the function and classification in every stage of their implementation is expected to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. This research aims to analyze the cost of improvement work based on GB assessment in applying the Technical Guidelines from Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) No. 1 of 2022, which is the latest regulation in Indonesia. The blockchain-BIM method and the implementation of the GB component will be analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to find the most influential factors. The results of this study show that by applying Blockchain-BIM to overcome the cost constraints, it is proven to be able to increase the cost performance of GB in modern shopping center buildings by 3–3.8% in the Basic rating, while for other ratings, it is 0.5–2.1% higher, where the selection of a renewable energy model is very influential. A Robust Construction Safety Performance Evaluation Framework for Workers’ Compensation Insurance: A Proposed Alternative to EMR

The construction work environment remains one of the most hazardous among all industries. Construction injuries directly impact the workers and the work itself, including personal suffering, construction delays, productivity losses, higher insurance premiums, and possible liability suits for all parties involved in the project. The costs resulting from personal injuries, combined with the associated financial impact resulting from schedule disruptions, insurance hikes, and workers’ compensation, can impact a project’s profitability. Many of these impacts can be minimized or avoided through the continuous assessment and improvement of safety policies and practices. This paper aims to propose a new safety assessment methodology that equips insurance companies and construction managers with an optimal mechanism for evaluating the safety performance of construction companies. The proposed model consists of 20 evaluation criteria that are used to establish the efficiency benchmarks and provide comparison feedback for improving the company’s safety plans and procedures. These criteria are determined based on leading and lagging safety performance indicators. The data envelopment analysis (DEA) technique is used as the underlying model to assess the relative efficiency of safety practices objectively. Two illustration case studies are provided to demonstrate the dual effectiveness of the DEA model. The presented research contributes to the body of knowledge by formalizing a robust, effective, and consistent safety performance assessment. The model equips the company with the ability to track both the progression and the retrogression over time and provides feedback on ineffective practices that need more attention. Simultaneously, the model gives them more detailed safety performance information that can replace the current experience modification rating (EMR) approach. It provides insurance companies with an objective and robust evaluation model for selecting optimum rates for their clients. In addition, the data comparison utility offered by the DEA model and its criteria can be helpful for insurance companies to provide effective advice to their clients on which safety aspects to improve in their future strategies.

In this study, the energy consumption of Nasirabad Industrial Park (NIP) treatment plant was evaluated. A combination of up-flow anaerobic baffled reactor (UABR) and aerobic integrated fixedbed activated sludge (IFAS) processes were employed in NIP. To find out the average electrical energy use per m 3 influent wastewater, the rate of energy usage of the plant was calculated by data derived from the monthly utility bills in 2013 and 2014. The energy consumption was estimated to be 10.4 and 10.7 kWh.day -1 .m -3 in 2013 and 2014, respectively. In addition, the electrical energy consumption of different electromechanical equipment of the plant was separately assessed. The average daily electrical energy consumed by treatment processes (effective energy) in both 2013 and 2014 was estimated at 7.2 kWh.day -1 .m -3 , while the average energy consumption by other parts of the treatment plant (ineffective energy) was 3.2 and 3.5 kWh.day -1 .m -3 in 2013 and 2014, respectively. The rate of electrical energy usage per kg COD removal was found to be 4.9 and 5.1 kWh.day -1 in 2013 and 2014, respectively. Finally, it was inferred that energy use in NIP was not being managed in a suitable manor. Given the significance of energy, price risings, and the decline of resources by which energy is generated, it is imperative to take effective managerial actions to reduce electrical energy consumption in wastewater treatment plants. Also, the designers of water and wastewater treatment plants should consider less energy-intensive processes to improve their energy efficiency.
