Energy consumption in greenhouses and selection of an optimized heating system with minimum energy consumption

Abstract: In this paper, heat loss is precisely computed by a proposed code considering different climates. Estimating the costs of different central heating system, unit heaters were selected as the most feasible system. Finally, considering the heating capacity and unit heater's dimensions a computational fluid dynamics model was developed to find the optimized configuration of unit heaters in a typical greenhouse. Using this model, the required thermal load for a greenhouse based on the daily temperature of Arak city… Show more

“…The regulation and control of the operating conditions of the campus central heating system need to consider various factors such as the changes in the heat amount supplied by the heat source, and the water pressure of the heat supply pipe network, etc. [24][25][26][27][28], therefore, using the heat data collected by the heat supply monitoring platform to perform real-time energy consumption analysis and heating energy efficiency evaluation is a prerequisite for realizing automatic heat supply control based on energy conservation and heating demand. However, currently there're few relevant studies, so in order to fill in this research gap, this paper proposed a new method for analyzing the energy consumption of campus central heating system based on a campus heat supply monitoring platform, and a new method for evaluating the comprehensive energy efficiency of the heating system.…”

“…Greenhouse cultivation is the most intensive way of producing mainly vegetables and flowers. Over one hundred countries use the agricultural greenhouses for the commercial vegetable production [1][2][3][4][5][6][7]. Additionally, for opencast agriculture, the change in land usage usually causes soil erosion [8][9][10][11][12].…”

“…There are also time delays and intensive disturbances from the surroundings. This makes establishing an accurate mathematical model of a greenhouse's microclimate intricate and difficult [2,4,6,18,20,24].A great deal of research has been done in greenhouse modeling in the recent years. Many models have been developed to predict energy consumption and greenhouse microclimatic parameters.…”
