Energy Conservation Analysis and Control of Hybrid Active Semiactive Suspension with Three Regulating Damping Levels

Abstract: Active suspension has not been popularized for high energy consumption. To address this issue, this paper introduces the concept of a new kind of suspension. The linear motor is considered to be integrated into an adjustable shock absorber to form the hybrid active semiactive suspension (HASAS). To realize the superiority of HASAS, its energy consumption and regeneration mechanisms are revealed. And the system controller which is composed of linear quadratic regulator (LQR) controller, mode decision and switch… Show more

“…The method consists of the construction of a reduced model, with the degrees of freedom at representative floor levels only, and the transformation of earthquake input forces into a set of reduced input forces. We added the self-powered active control and energy regenerated to the power source, discussed in [27]. The impacts of adjustable damping on the motor force and energy consumption were investigated.…”

“…In recent years, domestic and overseas scholars have been studying on how to reduce the energy consumption of the active suspension, while ensuring dynamic performance of the vehicle [8][9][10][11]. Among them, many scholars put forward the hybrid suspension systems with different working modes so as to coordinate the contradictions between dynamic performance and energy consumption of the suspension system.…”
