Energy and Acoustic Environmental Effective Approach for a Wind Farm Location

Abstract: The justification for the construction of a wind farm depends primarily on two factors. The first one is the availability of the area with significant windiness; the second one is the environmental conditions in the selected location. The aim of this paper was to demonstrate the need for parallel noise and energy analyses during the design of a turbine location and selection of its type on the wind farm. The noise analyses were performed according to ISO 9613-2. A detailed analysis of wind conditions in a give… Show more

“…Also, an important factor is an acoustic environment with an acoustic noise level of 50 dB at nighttime and 55 dB during the day [26]. To reach this goal, the acousticians and the power engineers are looking for the best wind turbine model with a low acoustic emission [27]. Based on the simulations conducted by Ruggiero et al [28], the noise levels near the turbines are around 55 dBA with average wind speed conditions, while the noise levels in the surrounding area are lower.…”
