Abstract:We report a successful endovascular stent-graft treatment of a patient with type A dissection with primary entry tear at the ascending aorta. Simultaneous coronary stenting was performed. A literature review was performed and the possible use of endovascular treatment for ascending aortic dissections is discussed.

Ascending TEVAR is a feasible alternative to medical therapy for repair of acute and chronic ascending disease in high-risk patients. Development of devices dedicated to treat ascending aortic pathology is needed to improve outcomes.

“…A guide wire was passed from the right femoral vein, across both atria, the left ventricle and then into the ascending aorta. Senay and colleagues reported successful endovascular stent graft treatment with simultaneous coronary stenting in a patient with type A aortic dissection and the primary entry tear located in the ascending aorta (18).…”
