Endosteal Dose to Thorotrast Patients

Abstract: For a 70-kg man injected intravascularly with a typical 25ml of Thorotrast (-0.6 pCi "Th), the dose-rate to the endosteum, 0-10 p m from bone surfaces, is estimated at roughly 16rad/yr, of which 7rad/yr is from "' Ra, *2&rh, and =Ra translocated from Thorotrast to calcified bone, and about 9 rad/yr is from Thorotrast on bone surfaces and in red marrow.
