Endoscopy Assisted Oncoplastic Breast Surgery (EAOBS)

Abstract: Endoscopic oncoplastic breast surgery represents a minimal invasive approach with the aim of both removing cancer safely and also restoring the breast image. It has less noticeable scar, excellent cosmetic outcomes, high patient satisfaction rate and recently reported relatively long term safety. Operative techniques for both endoscopic breast conserving surgery and endoscopic nipple/areola/skin sparing mastectomy have been described in detail. Two different working planes in which one of them is subcutaneous … Show more

“…However, the biggest disadvantage was the resulting 10-15 cm back scar. Previous attempts at generalizing endoscopic or robotic breast surgery have been hindered by hurdles such as limited space and angles [17,18]. In contrast, the results of endoscopic or robotic surgery for harvesting the LD flap have been more frequently reported because securing space is easier in the LD cavity than in the breast [19][20][21].…”

“…42 Furthermore, endoscopicassisted BC surgery guarantees both good aesthetic results and long-term therapeutic safety. 43 Currently, da Vinci surgical system has been widely used in several other metastatic cancer surgical interventions viz., urinary surgery, gynaecology and thyroid surgery. [44][45][46] The robot-assisted breast reconstruction may achieve significant results in improving the overall quality of life in BC patients in breast reconstruction surgery without severe complications.…”
