As shown in Table 1, emergency endoscopy was performed in 160 cases of overt bleeding from the upper gastrointestinal tract and in 68 cases (42.5%) which were diagnosed to have active bleeding or fresh clots and the local injection of pure ethanol was performed with success in all of them.…”
