Endoscopic Pretrichial Brow Lift: Surgical Indications, Technique and Outcomes

Abstract: In properly selected cosmetic patients, the endoscopic pretrichial brow lift is an effective method for rejuvenating the upper face. A more youthful appearance is achieved with the procedure, and it is easily combined with eyelid rejuvenation. We believe that this technique is the procedure of choice for addressing brow ptosis in patients with high hairlines.

“…Hairline pattern constitutes one of the chief challenges in male brow-lifting. 5 , 79 , 93 The surgeon must not only evaluate current hair pattern of the patient, but also predict the future hair pattern by asking about the history of the stability of the patient's hair pattern and assessing the current height and density of the frontal hairline and the extent of alopecia. The true evaluation can guide the surgeon to choose a surgical approach that is inconspicuous at the time of surgery and in the future.…”

“…Tower and Dailey [10] present an alternative technique for rejuvenating the upper face of patients with high hairlines with the endoscopic approach while excising skin, avoiding further recession of a high hairline. This study is a retrospective analysis of 22 cases in which the authors reviewed endoscope-assisted pretrichial brow lifts over a 4-year period.…”
