Abstract:This paper describes the technique and clinical results of endoscopic dissection (endodissection) of the thoracic esophagus during transhiatal esophagectomy (THE). The method eliminates the ‘blind angle’ of conventional THE and reduces intraoperative traction on mediastinal tissues.
