“…In addition, dilation with bougie and balloon is reported to be safe and effective for managing benign esophageal strictures. 21 Temporary stent insertions have also been increasingly used for the disease. 22 However, it is not the first choice of treatment considering the inflammatory hyperplasia that occurs with partially covered metal stents and a high migration rate with the fully covered metal stents.…”

“…[20][21][22] This may lead to greater reluctance in elderly patients and their relatives to grant consent for ESD interventions. In addition, although a significantly higher percentage of patients received anticoagulant drugs in group A than in group B, no elderly patients in either group developed delayed bleeding.…”

“…Endoscopic esophageal dilation is a common method for the prevention and treatment of post-ESD stricture; it includes balloon dilation and bougie dilation, which exhibit different modes of action. Lian et al [14] conducted a retrospective study in which 335 patients with early esophageal cancer received ESD. Among…”

“…Lian et al . [ 14 ] conducted a retrospective study in which 335 patients with early esophageal cancer received ESD. Among them, 29 patients exhibited varying degrees of dysphagia 17–45 days after ESD and received endoscopic balloon dilation (EBD) 117 times in total.…”
