Abstract:Endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress due to aging is one of the critical factors that inhibit stem cell differentiation and cause differentiation failure. However, some ER stress-related proteins play important roles in the regulation of stem cell differentiation and are upregulated during differentiation. Thus, ER stress is associated with both positive and negative regulation of adipocyte differentiation. Nevertheless, it remains unclear whether the upregulation of ER stress-related proteins is a cause or an ef… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
