Abstract:Endomyocardial biopsies for rejection monitoring after heart transplantation are generally performed through the right internal jugular vein. We aimed to assess the feasibility and safety of using the left internal jugular vein approach as a valid alternative to a femoral vein for endomyocardial biopsies whenever thrombosis of the right internal jugular vein precludes insertion of a bioptome.
