Endometriosis and oocytes (a review)

Abstract

Objective-to present the systematic analysis of the data of modern literature on the effect of endometriosis on oocytes and markers of their quality. Material and methods. The review contains data from foreign studies presented in the electronic database of Pubmed for the last 3 years. Results. Analysis of literature data showed that endometriosis adversely affects the quality of the oocyte and negatively correlates with the potential for the embryo development. Conclusion. Infertility of patients with endometriosis is associated with a decrease in the quality of oocytes, rather than with an endometrial medium or susceptibility. However, the observations are still controversial and require more careful consideration of disputed points and a deeper analysis.
