Herth et al [24] reported that EBUS detected 48 of 54 lesions smaller than 3 cm that could not be detected using fluoroscopy, and that 38 diagnoses were made resulting in a 70% diagnostic rate. Ensminger and Prakash [25] reported a 55% diagnostic rate for 107 biopsies obtained using fluoroscopy on patients with diffuse pulmonary disease, but no endobronchial lesions.…”
