Khidr et al 9 enrolled 42 medical students with no previous double lumen tube (DLT) intubating experience into their study quantifying the learning curves for novice learners using video laryngoscopy (VL). Comparing the King Vision ® and McGrath ® VL devices, they describe a learning curve among novice laryngoscopy trainees along which the subjects achieved faster DLT intubation, better laryngeal exposure, and higher success rate on simulated “easy” and “difficult” mannequin airways with a median of 9 DLT intubations to achieve a 92% or greater DLT intubation success rate.…”
