Abstract: This study was carried out on endemic plants collected from the Lake Van basin between 1994 and 2002. As a result, 98 endemic taxa, 23 of which grow only in the Lake Van basin, were determined. Including the endemic taxa reported before from the region, a list of 259 endemic taxa belonging to 34 families and 117 genera were compiled. Twenty-three of 259 taxa listed, are unique to the Lake Van Basin. There are 249 endemic taxa in the VANF Herbarium. The authors collected 98 of them. The other 151 endemic taxa w… Show more

“…Field studies were carried out between the years 1997-2001, especially during 4th, 5th and 6th months, and minimum 10 plant specimens were collected for each species from different localities, 7 times for D. rosularis, and 2 times for D. cappadocica (Demirkuş et al, 2000). D. rosularis samples were collected from the localities around the fountain in Güzeldere Pass (Başkale-Van) for 6 times, and the end of Keşiş Lake, around Güvelek Village for 1.…”

“…Bu türün risk kategorisi yakın zamanda değerlendirilmiş olup (Demirkuş, Koyuncu & Gül, 2018) tehtide yakın (NT) risk sınıfında yer alması uygun görülmüştür. Bitkinin alanımızda da yayılışının olmasına rağmen halk tarafından tüketiliyor olması (Mükemre et al, 2020) ve düşük düzeyde risk altında olması dikkate alındığında tehdide yakın (NT) risk sınıfında kalması önerilmektedir.…”

“…This leads to unsuitable aquaculture conditions and, consequently, increased susceptibility to infections (Sakai, 1999). The Van Lake Basin, a closed basin, is rich in both plant and animal species (Şekercioğlu et al, 2011;Elp et al, 2016;Adızel et al, 2017;Demirkuş et al, 2018;Toyran et al, 2018). Also, there are many ponds and streams in the basin such as natural lakes of Van, Erçek, Nazik, Nemrut, Aygır, Arin and the dam lakes of Sarımehmet, Koçköprü, Zenek, Morgedik (Cetinkaya, 1993).…”
