“…An all-optical poling, in which the aligning electric field is actually generated by the laser light has also been envisaged since 1993 on DR1M-MMA copolymer (Charra et al, 1993;Chalupczak et al, 1996) and subsequently applied to a new phosphine oxide azo-dye-MMA copolymer (Fiorini et al, 1997) achieving increased transparency with respect to the DR1 functionalized material, together with large secondorder properties.
