Abstract:The epiplastic foramen is a natural opening in the thoracic cavity that communicates with the abdominal cavity, located dorsally to the cleft of the liver, contacting the caudal vena cava, portal vein, pancreas, hepatoduodenal ligament and with the small intestine loops.
