Encapsulation of Docetaxel into Diblock Polymeric Polymersome as a Nanodrug

Abstract: In this study, a chemotherapeutic drug, Docetaxel (DTX) was loaded in a di-block polymeric nanoparticles (NPs) consisted of Oleate and Poly (ethylene glycol). First, the OA-PEG 1000 units were synthesized by the esterification reaction and confirmed by 1 HNMR and FTIR spectroscopies. After determination of critical micelle concentration (CMC), the DTX was loaded into the OA-PEG 1000 NPs using the solvent displacement method. The encapsulation efficiency and loading capacity percentages were estimated as 22.2 %… Show more

“…On the other hand, Dong et al [ 55 ], report trials of chitosan-coated PNPs for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and pulmonary infection using a solvent evaporation method. In another study using the solvent displacement method nanoparticles loaded with docetaxel (DTX) were obtained for lung cancer treatments [ 56 ]. Nowadays one of the respiratory diseases of the latest importance is the MERS-CoV [ 57 ] has prompted the Basha development of new methods of obtaining PNPs [ 58 ].…”
