“…MGs have been applied in the past as anticorrosive coatings 56−59 and hermetic barriers. 58,60 For this study, we used two MG formulations S1. Although we are unable to measure the droplet sizes with our camera, we can predict the range of sizes extrapolated with eq 1 from prior acetone electrospray data.…”

“…The third material was an oligomeric silsesquioxane made by a sol–gel process as described elsewhere. These “melting gels” (MGs) possess consolidation temperatures, T c 's, between ∼120 and ∼170 °C. MGs have been applied in the past as anticorrosive coatings and hermetic barriers. , For this study, we used two MG formulations prepared using methyltriethoxysilane (MTES) along with dimethyldiethoxysilane (DMDES) and phenyltriethoxysilane (PhTES), along with dipheynldiethoxysilane (DPhDES). The selected compositions of (mol %) 65%MTES–35%DMDES (65/35) and 87%PhTES–13%DPhDES (87/13) were selected to have a T g below (65/35: −15.7 °C) and above (87/13: 25–30 °C) room temperature and moderate T c ’s (65/35: ∼150 °C, 87/13: ∼135 °C).…”

“…And the solution to global warming is not to fix the world, it is to fix ourselves.' 13 Nathan, I understand why you feel cynical and misanthropic, but we cannot throw our hands up and simply advocate for terminating ourselves, and acting as though 'human' is a homogeneous category." "Why not?"…”
