Encapsulated organic–mineral fertilizers with nanoporous structure

Abstract: Research to obtain a long-acting encapsulated fertilizer has been carried out. The performed physicochemical studies confirmed the production of a high-quality phosphate-containing shell on the carbamide prill surface. Solubility of proposed samples were analyzed. The effectiveness of the developed compositions of the encapsulated fertilizer shell was determined. Studies in soil columns were carried out to assess nitrogen leaching. The method of scanning microscopy with elemental microanalysis was used to stud… Show more

“…The above is possible through the use of SRFs, which consist usually from nutrients covered or dispersed in an organic or inorganic hydrophobic material, A key point for the making of SRF is selecting the right material for encapsulation. Its selection depends on its physicochemical and biochemical properties, but also, on external factors like cost and availability (Jafari et al, 2017;Vakal et al, 2019Yanovska et al, 2022). However, considering a system for SRF, some criteria have been proposed for its use under specific test conditions: (i) the fertilizer release must not be more than 15 % of the total concentration contained in it during the first few 24 hours after its…”
