Business traveling is attracting growing attention due to the expansion of international markets. This fact calls for an increasing attention of the tourism sector toward the needs of business travellers, who often require services that are different from the ones desired by leisure tourists. The application of smart solutions coming from Context Awareness and Ambient Intelligence aimed at promoting guests' comfort and well-being, also in cases in which they have special needs, represents a promising solution to tackle business travellers' requirements and thus, to increase hotels attractiveness and incomes. In this context, this work introduces RoomFort, a smart comfort management system aimed at enhancing comfort of hotel room guests and leveraging on semantic representations of comfort, environment, and sensors. RoomFort provides a set of domain ontologies to formalize comfort-related metrics and to exploit the automatic reasoning capabilities provided by Semantic Web technologies, while gathering data through a network of sensors to ensure guests are provided with tailored comfort profiles during their stays in the hotel. Particular focus has been placed on visual comfort, since indoor lighting features constitute one of the main factors influencing the two main activities that most business travellers accomplish in their hotel room: working and relaxing.

CasAware is an Ambient Assisted Living platform, developed within an Italian research project, with the aim to improve the level of comfort and well-being of inhabitants of a house, while optimizing the energy consumption. A key feature, for successful realization of such a platform, is its capability to interoperate with other IoT platforms, which can augment CasAware with additional services. Indeed, this capability facilitates smooth communication between CasAware devices and external devices connected to other IoT platforms, thus allowing efficient exchange of messages among them. However, such integration is hindered by the heterogeneity of data models used in different platforms, which is also related to lack of common standards. In order to realize integration needed for CasAware, this paper presents an approach which exploits results of the INTER-IoT project. Specifically, the INTER-IoT methodology and a set of software tools for achieving IoT interoperability are applied. In the presented study, it is shown how the INTER-IoT based approach can facilitate interoperability between CasAware and two other platforms, which use completely different data models.

Aim/Purpose: In this exploratory study we examine personal information management within music streaming applications. Also, we investigate the sense of ownership over songs being played on music streaming applications and whether the use of these services may be considered a social activity. In a later stage, we intend to test privacy related issues in music streaming applications and the factors that influence privacy concerns when using these services. Methodology: This is examined by using a mixed methodology and consists of two phases: qualitative and quantitative. The qualitative stage includes semi-structured interviews with 10 music streaming application users in order to explore the possible change in personal information management, following the emergence of these applications (e.g. change in classification methods and song retrieval methods). The quantitative phase includes the distribution of closed ended questionnaires among 200-250 users of music streaming applications, aiming to explore personal information management issues and privacy related issues that emerge while using these applications (e.g. privacy concerns). Currently, a pilot of the qualitative stage was issued. Findings: We found that users still rely on traditional methods of personal information management, rather than making use of the newer features available by the innovative music streaming applications. The same applies to the use of these applications as part of a social activity. In addition, it seems that the emergence of music streaming applications influenced the sense of ownership over songs in personal music libraries and made it ambiguous among music consumers. Contribution: As far as we know, this is the first academic research to investigate the issue of personal music management among music streaming applications and the also the first to use a mixed methods approach to examine digital music consumption. In addition, it is the first study that takes into account privacy related issues among the users of music streaming applications.
